A1 Commercial Cleaning

Commercial carpet receives many times the traffic that typical residential carpet gets. That’s why it is extremely important to select and install commercial carpet that meets a building user’s needs – from fiber and construction to  pile design and color.  However, no matter the carpet that is selected and installed, its beauty and serviceability will rely on the regular maintenance and cleaning program employed.

The critical components of a regular carpet maintenance program include keeping sand, grit and glass clippings away from outside entries to prevent these abrasive soils from being tracked inside; placing entry mats (placed on hard surfaces, not on the carpet) large enough to allow for two footsteps to sufficiently wipe soil from feet before stepping onto the installed carpet; frequent vacuum cleaning, especially after major events; treating spots immediately with plain warm water and mild detergent.   Deep cleaning of commercial carpet should occur at least every 6 months, with “high traffic area” cleaning being performed at least quarterly.

Carpeting serves as a “filter” or collection point for all the debris in the environment that is tracked in from outside or that settles from the ambient air.  Carpet’s features, such as soil-resistance, slip resistance and sound absorbency make it the most desirable floor covering in most buildings.  Eventually, however, all carpets must be cleaned thoroughly in order to empty the “filter”.

That’s where A1 comes in!  Our certified technicians have the equipment, training and experience to not only empty the “filter” but also to restore the commercial carpet’s color and beauty, improving overall indoor environmental quality in the building.  Both Shaw Industries and Mohawk (manufacturers of 2/3 of the world’s carpet) recommend hot water extraction, or “steam” cleaning – the only method A1 uses.
